Good morning everybody. There are good ways to get your child eager to study their homework. Some parents have a problem what to do to make their children have the enthusiasm to study. It’s very important that their willingness is there. I came across with the article written by Cecile Baltazar and I want to share it to all mothers out there.
It has been said time and time again by parents, teachers, and school principals: “Good study habits make for good learning and good grades.” Of course, they’re right. But what exactly are good study habits and how do we get kids to practice them?
Parents should develop a system that is customized to each child’s personality. It doesn’t even have to conform to what parents think is the right study habit. Should you let your child study in front of the TV? If it helps your child focus and study better, why not?
However, before leaving your child to this kind of unconventional study setting, you ingrain structured study skills in your child first. Once he knows what it takes to learn his school lessons, then you may slacken the reins; but make sure though that you stay within reach. A child’s education should after all, be a collaboration between his teacher and parents.
Here are three more things parents can do to ease in good study habits for their kids.
1. Set a routine.
Having an established study routine gets children, especially younger school age kids, to focus on the task at hand. If a child knows that he’s expected to study and do homework right after dinner and before watching TV, he can adjust and learn to concentrate on tasks better than if he didn’t have any scheduled study time.
